What is a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP)?
The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program at Fore Counselling Health Centre is designed to help improve the lives of people with serious and persistent mental illnesses.
Our highly-trained care coordinators help our patients learn and develop important life skills, such as time management, organization, cleaning, healthy habits, money management, personal hygiene, and how to cope with difficult situations.
What is a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP)?
The goal of the PRP at Fore Counselling Health Centre is to teach emotional, cognitive, and social skills that help those with psychiatric conditions live and work in their communities as independently and successfully as possible.
Through our program, patients will receive mental health services provided by professionals trained in psychiatric rehabilitation. Services might include individual counseling, group counseling, and organized activities.
Our care coordinators frequently evaluate patients’ needs to ensure they receive the most effective tools and progress in their recoveries. Our care coordinators are trained to connect patients with resources to address a variety of issues, including drug or alcohol abuse, homelessness, and unemployment.
What is the process for joining this program?
There are a couple of ways to join our PRP program. You can call Fore Health Counselling at 410-624-7121/443-449-7161 to schedule an initial intake visit, during which we’ll discuss your unique needs.
Alternatively, you can access an interest form on our website www.Forecounsellinghealthcentre.com, complete it, and submit it to Fore Counselling Health Centre. Once we review your form, we’ll contact you to schedule your initial intake visit. After your intake is completed, our staff will create your initial treatment plan and begin treatment.
What does a one-on-one visit entail?
During a one-on-one visit, you will work with your care coordinator toward a specific goal detailed in your treatment plan. These visits can be quick or long (usually between 15 minutes and two hours), depending on the complexity of what’s being addressed.
How often will I meet with my care coordinator?
How often you meet with your care coordinator depends on your unique situation and needs. On average, you will meet with your care coordinator two times a week.
What kind of insurance do I need for PRP?
For Psychiatric Rehabilitation, a few types of insurance are accepted. These include Medical Assistance (MA), Primary Adult Care (PAC), or Employed Individuals with Disabilities (EID) benefits.
How long does the PRP program last?
Generally, insurance companies approve PRP services for three to six months. Toward the end of your initial PRP program, the Fore Health Counselling team will review your progress and may suggest partaking in another treatment period.
